About David

Managing Partner

David Beightol co-founded Flywheel Government Solutions, and leads federal and state business development, political strategy and C-level management advisory services for clients of the firm. Prior to Flywheel, David served as Managing Principal for Dutko Grayling as well as Managing Director for Dutko Grayling State and Local and founded Dutko Grayling Government Markets. 

 

Prior to joining Grayling, Mr. Beightol was Director of Government Affairs for the large multinational corporation, Johnson Controls, Inc. Before opening Johnson Controls’ government affairs operation, David was Senior Associate/Partner at International Business Resources, Inc.  Mr. Beightol has previously served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs, and in 1992, President Bush appointed David as Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force on the Los Angeles Recovery. For a number of years, Mr. Beightol served as Director of Wisconsin Governor Tommy G Thompson’s Washington, DC office. David began his political/public policy career in the U.S. House of Representatives, first in the office of Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) followed by the Science, Space and Technology Committee. 

 

In addition to his duties with Flywheel, David has served on the board of MissionLink, an organization of CEO’s in the National Security arena, and on the Advisory Board for Global Relief Technology, Inc.  David also sat on the corporate board for the Arena Stage and has served as an advisor to both the Maryland Initiative of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy and the Baseball Hall of Fame. David also supported Governor Mitt Romney’s National Finance team for both the 2008 and 2012 Presidential Campaigns and currently serves on the finance committees for the Republican Governor’s Association (RGA) as well as the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), which includes the Republican Lieutenant Governor’s Association (RLGA), Republican Legislative Campaign Committee (RLCC), and Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC).

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Mr. Beightol is married with three children and resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
