Working closely with our Fortune 100 energy client, Flywheel led strategy and execution to prevent implementation of nearly identical parallel legislative initiatives in two states that would have adversely affected the client's business. Further, a greater risk, the legislation could have easily been replicated by other states. The legislation adversely impacted taxpayer investments, and inhibited advancement of public-private partnerships for building efficiency modernization. Recognizing the problematic nature of the legislative language in both states, the Flywheel team consequently engaged, educated and mobilized the Governor and Lieutenant Governor's offices in both states to prevent passage of the legislation. Flywheel successfully helped preserve a critical growth market sector and substantial revenue opportunities that directly impacted the client's bottom line. As a result of this legislative success, the client has been able to continue pursuing public-private partnership opportunities with government agencies in these states. 

Working with a leading national clean energy policy organization, Flywheel helped raise awareness for National Clean Energy Week. NCEW advances support at the federal, state and local level for new methods of market development, policy change, and technological innovation in our nation’s energy sector. Flywheel played an integral role in obtaining bipartisan support from 30 of our nation’s governors — each of which issued a proclamation recognizing National Clean Energy Week in their state. This high level exposure of our client’s initiative helped to expand their reach across the nation and solidified relationships and recognition of their clean energy policy objectives.

In a typical year, Flywheel works in approximately 40 states to build relationships and drive sales for this company. Flywheel engaged, educated, and mobilized multiple governors’ offices to veto legislation that would have been hugely detrimental to our client’s business. Furthermore, Flywheel has also worked with numerous governors’ offices to propose and pass new legislation that has been advantageous to their lines of business.

Flywheel has also been a major force at the intergovernmental level and has worked with our client’s federal team to leverage state government officials to weigh in with their congressional delegations to support federal P3 legislation for social infrastructure.
